Behind MAVI
MAVI was founded by Rebeka, a woman whose relationship with time changed when life presented her with an unexpected challenge.
After being diagnosed with synovial sarcoma in her hand, Rebeka faced the possibility of losing it. What followed was a journey shaped by uncertainty, treatment, courage, and faith.
She learned that strength does not always look fearless. Sometimes, it is simply choosing to keep moving forward when the path ahead is unclear.
Her recovery became the beginning of a new chapter and a new way of seeing life.

The Journey Home
A Story of
New Beginnings
After overcoming one of the most difficult seasons of her life, Rebeka moved to the United States with her family and began rebuilding her story far from home.
Years later, her family faced another unexpected chapter. When her youngest son was born needing specialized care and surgery, they made the decision to return home.
The family returned to Manaus, in the heart of the Brazilian Amazon, where they could be closer to their roots and surrounded by the support he needed.
What may have felt like returning to where everything began became, in many ways, another beginning.
